About Patricia Miller

I was born in the 60's in Massachusetts. I was adopted when I was 5 and went to K-7th grade in Sanbornville, NH. My family moved to Hull, Massachusetts the summer after the blizzard of '79. After high school, I followed two of my older sisters' footsteps and went into the Air Force. I did my training in Texas and Colorado and was stationed in Guam, England, and Florida.  I visited Japan and Taiwan in the Pacific and most of the northern European countries. I got an associate's degree while in the Air Force.

My older siblings (5 of them) made sure I learned my ABC's early. I have always loved to read and would frequently read with a pen flashlight under my covers until late at night.

Besides writing and taking care of our family, I also help my husband on our farm. We have soybeans, corn, hay, wheat, and cattle.  We have a blended family: one 'mine", two "his", and one "ours".

I am a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and the Iowa chapter of SCBWI. I am also involved in a private critique group. I love writing, attending writing conferences and reading books about writing.
